ListBuddy Privacy Policy
ListBuddy is a desktop tool that helps sellers manage Amazon-to-eBay arbitrage listings. Your data stays on your computer — we do not run a server that collects, stores, or processes it.
1. What ListBuddy is
ListBuddy consists of:
- A local desktop application that runs on your computer.
- A Chrome browser extension (ListBuddy Helper) that reads product information from retail pages you visit, and a separate extension (ListBuddy Fulfiller) that places Amazon orders on your behalf to fulfill your eBay sales.
2. What data ListBuddy handles
2.1 Data you supply
- Your eBay seller credentials (OAuth token, stored encrypted in your local app database).
- Your Amazon account session (managed by Chrome — ListBuddy never sees or stores your Amazon password).
- Listing preferences, pricing rules, and customer-message templates you create.
2.2 Data the extensions read
- From Amazon product pages you visit: product title, price, images, brand, ASIN, dimensions, and shipping eligibility. Used to populate your eBay listings.
- From other retailers (Walmart, Costco, Target, Home Depot, Best Buy, Lowe's): the same product fields, when you're researching alternative sources.
- From your eBay buyer orders (via eBay's official API): order details, line items, and the buyer's shipping address. Used to place the corresponding Amazon order and ship to the buyer.
2.3 Data ListBuddy does NOT read
- Your browsing history outside the retailer domains in the extension manifest.
- Your bank or payment details (Amazon and Stripe handle those directly).
- Any personally identifiable information about you beyond what you explicitly enter into ListBuddy.
3. Where your data is stored
All listing data, order history, and credentials live in a SQLite database on your local computer at the path you chose during installation. The ListBuddy extensions store only a worker ID and your local API endpoint in chrome.storage.local. We do not transmit any of this to a server we control, with two narrow exceptions:
- Stripe: when you sign up for a paid plan, your subscription status is checked against Stripe's servers. Card data is entered directly into Stripe and never touches ListBuddy.
- Google Gemini API (only if you've configured an API key): your product titles and descriptions are sent to Google's AI to generate optimized eBay listing copy. See Google's privacy policy for how they handle this data.
4. Buyer addresses
When ListBuddy fulfills an eBay sale, the buyer's shipping address is entered into Amazon's checkout in real time so the package ships directly to them. The address is stored only in your local database for record-keeping. ListBuddy never shares, sells, or transmits buyer addresses to anyone except Amazon (to ship the order) and the eBay buyer themselves.
5. Cookies and tracking
The ListBuddy website (listbuddy.org) does not set cookies or use analytics scripts. The extensions do not set cookies on retailer sites — they read existing page content using your already-authenticated browser session.
6. Children
ListBuddy is for business sellers age 18+. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
7. Your rights
Because your data is on your computer, you control it. To delete everything ListBuddy knows about your business, simply uninstall the app and remove the database file. If you have a paid plan, you can cancel anytime via the in-app billing page; Stripe will then delete the saved payment method per their policy.
8. Security
Your eBay token is encrypted at rest using the OS keychain or an equivalent local secret store. ListBuddy does not transmit your token to any server. The Chrome extensions only have host permissions for the retailer domains they need to read, listed in their manifests.
9. Changes to this policy
If we materially change how the app or the extensions handle data, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
